The chip&PIN method, which provides PIN protection for credit card payments, began in Turkey on March 31, 2006!

The chip&PIN is a new payment method that minimizes the risk of credit card fraud by helping to prevent counterfeiting and the use of lost or stolen cards. The technology involves a computer chip that is embedded in the card, providing protection from copying. The four-digit PIN (personal identification number) prevents others from using the card in the event of loss or theft.

As of March 31, 2006, customers with credit cards that have embedded chips are required to enter their four-digit PIN (personal identification number), to receive approval for their payments. chip&PIN technology will usher in a whole new level of security in credit card shopping.

Please be advised that for your security you should not disclose your PIN to anyone.
